Career-Bridge Recruitment are working with a well established construction and maintenance contractor delivering high quality services across a range of public sector projects.
They are seeking a confident and capable Trainee /Assistant Quantity Surveyor to support their commercial team on a variety of projects, with a focus on frameworks and refurbishment works across sectors such as education, heritage, and local authority buildings.
This role will suit someone looking to further develop their QS career with a hands on position that offers genuine responsibility, variety, and the opportunity to work on meaningful community-based projects.
Working on some interesting projects within the public sector projects (e.g., schools, heritage sites, local authority frameworks) is advantageous
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation, review, and management of Bills of Quantities (BOQs)
- Support the commercial management of subcontractor packages, including procurement, measurement, and payment
- Aid in the preparation and submission of interim valuations and final accounts
- Liaise with site teams to monitor progress and ensure commercial processes are followed
- Assist with cost reporting and project forecasting
- Work collaboratively with clients and stakeholders to deliver commercially successful projects
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar QS or Assistant QS role
- Strong working knowledge of BOQs and general quantity surveying procedures
- Comfortable working with subcontractors and assisting in managing valuations and payments
- Experience working on public sector projects (e.g., schools, heritage sites, local authority frameworks) is advantageous
- Familiarity with planned maintenance or refurbishment projects desirable
- Full UK driving licence
