Career-Bridge Recruitment are working on behalf of a thriving and forward-thinking construction company that is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their growing team in Plymouth. This is a permanent, full-time role, providing commercial leadership on a prestigious £5 million new-build hospitality development.
The successful candidate will take the lead on all commercial aspects of the project, from initial procurement to final account, playing a key role in supporting delivery teams and ensuring financial and contractual control is maintained throughout.
My client would also look at applications for experienced Quantity Surveyor level to.
Duties:
- Take ownership of commercial functions across the project lifecycle.
- Work closely with Health & Safety consultants to maintain a culture of safe working.
- Liaise confidently with clients, subcontractors, and colleagues to ensure smooth communication.
- Guide and develop junior team members within the commercial function.
- Manage tender processes, contract administration, and subcontractor appointments.
- Oversee payments, variations, and final accounts for subcontractors.
- Provide accurate monthly cost/value reports to senior leadership.
- Submit payment applications in accordance with contractual obligations.
- Ensure change management procedures and notification timelines are followed.
- Monitor project finances and cash flow forecasts.
- Identify commercial risks, ensure contract compliance, and contribute to overall project success.
You will need:
- Previous experience in a Senior Quantity Surveyor role within a main contractor environment.
- A solid track record of managing new build projects valued up to £5 million.
- Commercially aware, with high attention to detail and analytical thinking.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership abilities.
- Self-motivated, but also a team player who can collaborate effectively.
