Career-Bridge Recruitment are working with a private award winning house builder who are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor with a house builder background to come in and help out on a freelance basis.
My client would be open to hearing from individuals who can work 2-3 days per week or candidates who are wanting to work 5 days.
Duties
- Measure and value works on-site and from drawings for valuations and variations under your Line Manager’s guidance
- Procure and analyse sub-contract tender packages
- Assist in pricing system-based Bills of Quantities
- Evaluate and agree on variations and instructions
- Measure and value subcontractors’ work for payment and account management
- Ensure timely and accurate payments to subcontractors in line with subcontract agreements
- Complete in-house site valuations and cost/value reconciliations (CVRs) according to valuation schedules
- Prepare interim and final development appraisals and budgets
- Conduct material reconciliations
- Provide precise costings for all aspects of site development
- Collaborate with site staff and subcontractors to enhance productivity
- Attend monthly Development Team and Groundworker meetings on-site
You will need
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the housebuilding sector
- Relevant construction industry qualifications
- Comprehensive knowledge of construction materials and applications
- Problem-solving skills with a flexible approach
- Proficiency in IT systems, including Microsoft Office; knowledge of COINS is advantageous
