Senior Site Manger – Exeter

Career-Bridge Recruitment are working with a national house builder who are looking for a Senior Site Manager to join their team on a permanent basis, this is an exciting opportunity to join the  Construction Team as a Senior Site Manager reporting into the Contracts Manager.

My client is on the lookout for a Senior Site Manager to take charge of a key housing development. This isn’t about keeping a site ticking over — they need someone who can drive the build from start to finish, delivering quality homes on time, on budget, and to a standard that reflects their reputation. Safety, efficiency and craftsmanship should come as second nature.

You’ll be the go-to person on-site, making sure everything from groundworks to final finishes comes together on time and within budget. The role’s a mix of hands-on leadership, planning ahead, keeping people safe, solving day-to-day challenges, and working closely with colleagues, subcontractors, suppliers, and external partners to keep things moving.

Duties

  • Taking full ownership of a live construction site, ensuring every home hits the right quality standards and the development completes on schedule.
  • Managing site teams and subcontractors day-to-day — making sure everyone knows what’s expected, and work happens safely and to the right specification.
  • Keeping all records up to date — from staff inductions and site diaries to safety checks and quality inspections.
  • Liaising with warranty providers, local authorities and utility companies to keep the build programme running smoothly.
  • Making sure materials arrive on time and are stored correctly, minimizing waste and delays.
  • Staying on top of customer care issues — feeding back plot progress to the wider business and ensuring any snags are quickly resolved.
  • Driving a strong safety culture on site — ensuring every person who steps onto the development follows the correct Health, Safety and Environmental rules.
  • Working closely with Sales, Customer Care and other departments to ensure a smooth process from first brick to final key handover.

What you will need:

  • To be a site manager who’s led the full lifecycle of residential developments.
  • Housebuilding experience is essential — ideally with a recognised developer.
  • In-depth understanding of NHBC, LABC or Premier warranty standards.
  • Solid grasp of Health, Safety and Environmental legislation.
  • Qualified with a current CSCS card and SMSTS certificate.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Ideally, you’ll also hold a minimum NVQ Level 6 in Construction Management.

In Return:

  • Competitive salary (based on experience) up to £75,000 per annum
  • Choice of company car or car allowance
  • Pension contributions
  • Life cover and healthcare
  • Performance-related bonus
