Career-Bridge Recruitment is partnering with a successful, award-winning private house developer based in Exeter. They are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their team, overseeing cost management for residential developments from inception to completion.
This is a full-time role (37.5 hours per week) with an excellent work-life balance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage project costs for residential developments, ensuring budgets are controlled while maintaining high standards and quality.
- Oversee procurement of subcontractors, valuation reports, and provide support to the commercial and site teams.
- Drive cost-efficient procurement programs to enhance project value.
- Conduct measurement and valuation of works (both on-site and from drawings) for valuations and variations.
- Procure and analyze subcontract tender packages.
- Assist in pricing system-based Bills of Quantities.
- Evaluate and agree on variations and instructions.
- Measure and assess subcontractor work for payments and account purposes.
- Ensure timely and accurate payments to subcontractors in line with agreements.
- Complete in-house site valuations and cost/value reconciliations (CVRs) in line with valuation timetables.
- Prepare interim and final development appraisals and budgets.
- Accurately cost all aspects of site development.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the housebuilding industry.
- Relevant construction-related qualifications.
- Strong ability to prioritize workload and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Solid understanding of construction materials and their applications.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; knowledge of COINS software is an advantage.
