Career-Bridge Recruitment are supporting a well-established, award-winning housebuilder who are looking to bring an experienced Quantity Surveyor into their team in Bristol. This is a full-time role, offering a 37.5-hour week and a strong focus on work-life balance.
The Role:
You’ll oversee cost management for residential projects, from initial plans through to project handover. The key aim is to keep project costs under control while ensuring high-quality delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage budgets and cost plans for residential builds.
- Source and appoint subcontractors, prepare valuations, and support both commercial and site teams.
- Ensure efficient procurement, driving value without compromising standards.
- Measure and value work, both on drawings and on-site, for valuations and variations.
- Obtain and review subcontractor tenders.
- Assist with preparing system-based Bills of Quantities.
- Review and agree variations, managing payments to subcontractors in line with agreed terms.
- Complete internal valuations and cost reports on time.
- Prepare financial appraisals and development budgets.
- Ensure all project costs are accurately tracked and reported.
What You’ll Need:
- Experience in a Quantity Surveyor role, ideally within housebuilding.
- Construction-related qualifications.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Good understanding of construction materials and processes.
- Confident using IT, particularly Microsoft Office.
- Experience using COINS software would be helpful but isn’t essential.
