Office Manager – Mid Devon

Career-Bridge recruitment are working with an established Mid Devon based Construction company who are seeking an experienced and proactive Office Manager to join their team and help drive operational efficiency within their business.

The ideal candidate will come from or currently working in a similar construction company.

Duties

  • Manage day-to-day office operations to ensure smooth and efficient business processes.
  • Handle basic bookkeeping tasks, including tracking expenses and managing financial records.
  • Prepare and issue invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Oversee CIS payments for subcontractors, including enrolment and compliance processes.
  • Accurately log project costs, track labour hours, and ensure timely and correct billing.
  • Liaise with their external accounts team to assist with payroll and ensure all relevant data is captured.
  • Maintain and update the company’s CRM system ensuring all project and client information is up to date.
  • Work closely with site teams to support and understand construction terminology and processes, enabling more effective communication and administration.
  • Continuously assess and improve internal processes to enhance efficiency and support business growth.
  • Maintain compliance with internal policies and industry regulations.

About you

  • Proven experience in an administrative or office management role, preferably within the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of basic bookkeeping and familiarity with construction-related accounting practices.
  • Experience managing CIS payments and subcontractor documentation.
  • Excellent organisational skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working with CRM systems
  • Process-driven mindset, with a passion for improving workflows and operational effectiveness.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritise in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good communication skills and confidence liaising with site teams, subcontractors, and finance professionals.
  • A basic understanding of construction practices and terminology is highly beneficial.
